Fiesta is a celebration to honor the heroes of the Alamo. It is 2 weeks of parades, festivals, cultural performances, concerts, scholarship pageants, and carnivals. There is something for everyone! It is one of those things that you must experience at least once. http://www.fiesta-sa.org Viva Fiesta!
Buckhorn Lake Resort is a super nice RV Park in Kerrville, TX about an hour outside of San Antonio. Our RV spot was right on the lake which the kids loved. We could sit at our site and watch the turtles and fish swim by. This resort has a really nice playground, dog park, swimming pools, fitness center (overlooking the lake), laundry facility, fishing, and guest cottages. It is the perfect RV park if you want to take a trip with friends that don't have an RV. You can pick a site right next door to one of the cottages.
Visit their website at http://www.buckhornlake.com to make reservations and check out their events calendar. They often have live music, movie nights, pizza nights, pancake breakfasts, etc. It is a beautiful place! Jellystone Park Hill Country is in Canyon Lake, TX, an easy drive from San Antonio. We visited this park on Easter weekend. They were completely booked for the weekend, so we were lucky to get a spot. The RV sites are pretty nice, but navigating around the trees can be tricky. There is a store on site that has anything you might need plus tons of cute souvenirs. This Jellystone Park has tons of activities. The super cool water balloon station was our favorite, but they also have an arcade, volley ball court, laser tag, swimming, jumping pillow, crafts, hay rides, gem mining, candy bar bingo, and seasonal events like the biggest Easter Egg Hunt I have ever witnessed. Hunting for eggs in the woods is way fun! Check their events calendar, so you know what to expect.
http://www.jellystonehillcountry.com/events-calendar When we found out that Mississippi State would be playing Texas A&M in College Station, we knew we had to take the boys. We were able to camp out and tailgate in one of the campus parking lots. Yes, we were surrounded by A&M fans, but they could not have been nicer to us. What a beautiful campus and a fun game… even though MSU got slaughtered.
Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park is in Fredricksburg, TX. We visited one weekend right before Halloween. The staff gave each kid a trick-or-treat bag and they went to each RV site to load up on candy. Some of the kids had on their Halloween costumes, so it was really cute and a fun way to trick-or-treat.
Gulf Waters RV Park is one of the nicest RV parks we have visited and it is right on the beach. We love it there and hope to go back again soon. We have been to Gulf Waters two different times. 4th of July is not the ideal time for families to be on the beach in Port Aransas… Lots of college kids, lots of broken beer bottles, lots of traffic. But, Gulf Waters RV Park is always really clean, really quiet, and the staff there is so helpful.
